AUSTIN, Texas (Sept. 21, 2020) – Rearden Racing GT4 Sprint Am racers Paul Terry (one win, one second place) and Jeff Burton (two second places) made regular appearances at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) victory podium last weekend in the Pirelli GT4 America tripleheader road racing event at the fast 3.426-mile, 20-mile state-of-the-art racing facility.

Terry, driving the No. 59 Terry Trucking/Rearden Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 sports car, captured Saturday’s 50-mile GT4 Sprint Am over his teammate Burton in a sterling race which saw the two Utah drivers battle wheel-to-wheel at numerous times. At the finish, Paul bested Jeff by just 1.738 seconds in the first 1-2 finish for Rearden Racing in the 2020 season.

“Jeff (Burton) and I are the cowboys of the paddock and we had a great battle today,” said Terry, who now has three GT4 Sprint Am victories in 2020. “I have a great time racing him. He’s a great teammate and clean racer. Thank you to SRO, thank you to Circuit of the Americas and thank you to Rearden Racing!”

“Paul and Jeff really drove hard with our Aston Martin Vantage cars this weekend at COTA,” said team owner Lara Tallman. “It’s very exciting for their 1-2 finish in the GT4 Sprint race. They raced each other hard and clean. The 1-2 also shows how hard our Rearden Racing crew has worked to learn the Aston Martin cars in our first season with those vehicles. We look forward to the final two rounds in Indianapolis.”

Terry returned on Sunday to collect the runner-up spot in the third COTA GT4 Sprint race of the weekend. Paul also posted a fifth place in Friday’s 50-minute sprint race.

Terry now ranks second in the GT4 Sprint Am division points with two events remaining on Pirelli GT4 America schedule with those events set for Oct. 1-2 at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Burton, piloting the No. 91 Burton Lumber/Rearden Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 machine, drove to two GT4 Sprint Am pole positions, two fastest race laps as well two second place finishes at COTA. The Salt Lake City racer also scored a fourth place in Sunday’s contest and stands third in the GT4 Sprint Am point standings heading to IMS on Oct. 1-2.

Burton also teamed up with former SRO TC champion Vesko Kozarov in the GT4 SprintX Pro-Am category at COTA, driving the No. 91 Burton Lumber/Rearden Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 to eighth on Saturday in the 60-minute, two-driver event.

The GT4 Sprint and SprintX highlights from COTA will be shown through the CBS Sports Network on Sept. 24 with Sprint racing at 8:30 p.m. EDT (Encore showing on Sept 25 at 12 a.m. EDT) and SprintX racing on Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m. EDT (Encore showing on Sept 27 at 10 p.m.
