{"id":299,"date":"2021-10-18T22:22:31","date_gmt":"2021-10-18T22:22:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.reardenracing.com\/news\/?p=299"},"modified":"2022-08-23T22:51:51","modified_gmt":"2022-08-23T22:51:51","slug":"jeff-burton-vesko-kozarov-win-gt-world-challenge-pro-am-class-at-indy-sunday-with-lamborghini-gt3-huracan-for-rearden-racing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.reardenracing.com\/news\/race-updates\/jeff-burton-vesko-kozarov-win-gt-world-challenge-pro-am-class-at-indy-sunday-with-lamborghini-gt3-huracan-for-rearden-racing\/","title":{"rendered":"Burton &#038; Kozarov Win GT World Challenge Pro-Am Class At Indy Sunday with Lamborghini GT3 Huracan for Rearden Racing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 18, 2021)<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013<a>&nbsp;Racing at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway last weekend proved to be an exciting and successful finish to the 2021 SRO America sports car season for Rearden Racing drivers Jeff Burton and Vesko Kozarov.&nbsp;<\/a>&nbsp;The Utah-based driving duo, who captured the 2019 Pirelli GT4 America SprintX West Am series title, returned to the winner\u2019s circle Sunday in the 3-hour Fanatec GT World Challenge GT3 Pro-Am class race at the iconic \u201cBrickyard\u201d in the No. 91 Burton Lumber\/Rearden Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 sports car.&nbsp;&nbsp;Competing in a portion of the Indianapolis 8-Hour event at the 2.439-mile, 14-turn IMS road circuit, Burton and Kozarov came from 24<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;overall in the 39-car field and ran 13<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;overall when the 3-hour contest was concluded. That finish gave the Rearden Racing team the victory in the 3-hour Pro-Am division.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Indianapolis weather conditions throughout the weekend proved to be challenging as rain and cooler track surfaces left low grip levels for the competitors. But the Rearden Racing crew worked hard to establish the best car setup for its Lamborghini Huracan GT3 machine, and they took the car to the win.&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cWe are happy to get the victory at Indy,\u201d said Burton. \u201cThe different weather conditions were challenging. We had some difficulty getting the car to perform at times. Certain corners caused some problems. But we\u2019ll take home the win as a great way to finish the SRO season.\u201d&nbsp;Burton also collected podium finishes in the two Masters\u2019 class sprint race on Friday and Saturday at in the GT America 40-minute events. The runner-up placings secured the second position for Burton in the final GT America Masters point standings.&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cMaking the move to GT3 competition this year with the new Lamborghini Huracan car was a big jump for our Rearden Racing team,\u201d said Lara Tallman, Rearden Racing team owner. \u201cThere was a learning curve for the drivers and the team members at times, but they adjusted quickly, and we scored several wins. We are pleased to win the Pro-Am class at Indianapolis. Jeff also scored an overall win this year in the GT America division as well.\u201d&nbsp;The GT America highlights will be shown on CBS Sports Network on Wednesday (Oct. 27) at 8 p.m. EDT with an encore presentation on Thursday (Oct. 28) at 12 a.m. EDT.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>ABOUT REARDEN RACING:<\/strong>&nbsp;Owned and operated by Lara Tallman and driver Vesko Kozarov, Rearden Racing\u2019s roots date back to the 2000s when Tallman drove in the IMSA ST class.
